Rivoir & Associates is an executive search and acquisition advisory firm providing our client companies access to investment capital, executive management and a range of management consulting services. Our founding partner has spent close to 30 years in executive search, much of that working with venture capital and private equity investors, as well with entrepreneurs, CEO's and management teams.
Our primary focus over the years has been on Executive Search serving emerging and established companies in the technology, financial services, business services and industrial sectors. We have worked with private equity, venture capital and angel investors, as well as with established public and private companies, to recruit both senior executives at the CEO, Vice President and Director levels, as well as PE investment and operating professionals.
In 2002 we began adding Acquisition Advisory services by combining our executive search activities with connecting CEO’s and management teams interested in pursuing an acquisition strategy with the appropriate private equity investors.

Executive Search
Rivoir & Associates provides retained executive search services, recruiting C-Suite, Senior Executives and Operating Partners for Private Equity firms and their Portfolio Companies, with a focus on the TMT (technology, media & telecommunications) and technology-enabled business services sectors.
Our founding partner John Rivoir entered the executive search field in 1989, and, in addition to his own firm, has been a Partner with Spence Associates International and Rivoir & Fetzer, as well as a search consultant with AT Kearney Executive Search, Bioquest and Ethos Consulting. John has led senior search assignments across a broad range of industries and functions, with the focus over the past 20 years on working with Private Equity investors and their portfolio companies.
We also currently work on an affiliate basis with Major Executive Search, a San Diego-based retained search firm.
Acquisition Advisory
Rivoir & Associates is an executive search firm that has developed a model of working with proven operating executives seeking to buyout their existing company, acquire a company in a specific industry sector, or pursue a “buy and build” strategy of acquiring a platform company with subsequent follow-on acquisitions, all in partnership with Private Equity. We have developed a wide network within the PE community, enabling us to effectively source proprietary deals and to match the CEO or management team with the right investment group.
Our ideal candidate is a current or former CEO who has been a key driver in acquisitions, public offerings, turnarounds, and/or the successful sale of a company, and who has a track record of delivering substantial returns to investors. That executive should also have a solid investment thesis as well as a desire to either buyout their existing company, grow that company through acquisition, or acquire one or more new companies within their industry of expertise.
